This is a blog about maps, geography, and the stories hiding behind the places we think we know. I write about how humans draw the world and what those drawings reveal: the quiet choices inside a projection, the fake streets mapmakers hide to catch copycats, the way a town’s name still carries the memory of everyone who ever lived there. Some of it is history, some of it is fieldwork, some of it is just me getting curious about a line on a map and following it until it tells me something. Places are never only their coordinates. They’re arguments, accidents, and inheritances all folded into a shape you can hold in your hand. I come here to unfold a few of them, one story at a time, and to stay a little more awake to the world I move through.
